South Mission Street, South City Limits – Deinhard Lane
Important Updates:
- 08/12/2024 - 08/15/2024 - Anticipated Paving Week Schedule:
- S. Mission Street and Deinhard Lane:
- Monday 8/12/2024 and Tuesday 8/13/2024.
- Longer delays are anticipated during this time.
- Approaches and the separated bike lane:
- Anticipated to begin Wednesday 8/14/2024 and may take until the end of the week to complete.
- Standard delays are anticipated for the public, but longer delays may occur for the property owners as their approaches are paved.
- In general, one-way alternating traffic will be implemented on Deinhard Lane and S. Mission St. during construction hours.
- 08/05/2024 - 08/09/2024 - Subbase preparation is ongoing and the application of the CRABs material is anticipated to occur later in the week. Construction operations on Deinhard Lane are continuing and will likely affect the remainder of the project. Please anticipate delays. One-way alternating traffic will be implemented on Deinhard Lane and S. Mission St. during construction hours.
- 07/29/2024 - 08/02/2024 - Asphalt pulverizing will begin this week for subbase preparation. Construction operations on Deinhard Lane are ongoing and will likely affect the remainder of the project. Please anticipate delays. One-way alternating traffic will be implemented on Deinhard Lane and S. Mission St. during construction hours.
- 07/22/2024 - 07/26/2024 - Excavation and widening operations on Deinhard Lane are underway to facilitate the installation of future turn lanes. Please anticipate delays. One-way alternating traffic will be in effect on Deinhard Lane and S. Mission St. during construction hours.
- 07/15/2024 - 07/19/2024 - Roadside swales are being installed this week. Please be aware that there will be 1-way alternating traffic during construction hours.
- 07/08/2024 - 07/12/2024 - Roadside swales are being installed this week. Please be aware that there will be 1-way alternating traffic during construction hours.
- Construction is anticipated to begin June 17, 2024.

Project Funding: ~$3,150,000 Surface Transportation Program (STP) Rural Grant Funding

Project Overview:
This project will fully reconstruct South Mission Street from the South City Limits to Deinhard Lane. Specific project components include:
- CRABS (Cement Recycled Asphalt Base Section) rehabilitation of South Mission Street between the Southern City Limits and Deinhard Lane.
- Extension of the existing separated pathway south of City Limits to Jacob Street.
- Addition of bike lanes on both sides of the road (bike lanes are part of separated pathway south of Jacob Street).
- Drainage improvements along South Mission Street
- Realigned access to Riverfront Park
- Addition of a left-turn lane on South Mission Street for westbound Deinhard Lane
- Addition of a left-turn lane on Deinhard Lane for southbound Mission Street.
- Repaving of Deinhard Lane and Mission Street intersection.
Major Construction Milestones/Current Schedule (subject to change):
- Construction is anticipated to begin June 17, 2024, and will take approximately 67 working days.
- Substantial completion is estimated to be September 25, 2024.
Follow the posted detour signs. Pedestrians and cyclists are also urged to exercise caution when navigating the affected areas.
Local businesses and residents are encouraged to plan ahead and make necessary arrangements to minimize any inconvenience caused by the road closure.
