On Sunday, August 20, 2023, officers asked community members to review video surveillance from nearby areas and contact the McCall Police Department or Valley County Dispatch with any information that may be of benefit to the investigation.
In the following days, officers located what they believed to be the suspect vehicle from the incident. Officers reviewed additional evidence, conducted multiple interviews, and eventually identified the driver of the suspect vehicle as ROBERT HARDING TUNISON, a 36-year-old from Caldwell, Idaho. Shortly thereafter, officers obtained an arrest warrant for TUNISON, charging him with the crimes of Vehicular Manslaughter and Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, both felony offenses in the state of Idaho.
On Thursday, August 24, 2023, TUNISON was located by a Valley County Sheriff’s Deputy near the Valley County / Adams County northern border and was ultimately taken into custody by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
We would like to thank the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, the Adams County Sheriff's Office, and the Idaho State Police, for their assistance in this investigation and efforts in obtaining custody of TUNISON.
