WHY REVITALIZE DOWNTOWN?

The “Heart” of our City is McCall’s Downtown. Its the gathering place for the community and a sense of arrival for visitors. The first glimpse of Payette Lake when entering Downtown McCall leaves a lasting impression on anyone who has visited. The Downtown Project aims to increase the energy of the area and create a vibrant and attractive destination for both residents and visitors. This project will transform our  Downtown into a symbol of pride for the community and establish McCall’s identity. Restoring McCall’s Downtown is an important economic catalyst for attracting new businesses, residents, and visitors to McCall.

The current dilapidated condition of Downtown McCall roads display the need to rebuild. The Streets L.O.T. has provided a financial solution to repair an important reflection of McCall’s overall character. City of McCall remains focused on maintaining and improving the physical and economic aspects of Downtown McCall for visitors, residents and the business community.

OVERVIEW Logo(1).jpg

Over the next four years McCall’s Downtown will get a complete facelift. Over the course of shorter construction phases, crews will aim to keep impacts to a minimum and utilize our short summer construction window.Downtown Improvements.png

2nd Street
The center of downtown and therefore calls for a unique design. Including special pavement treatments and rolled curbs will create an area for public gathering events.

Lenora, Park & 1st  Street*
These typical streets with low speeds, short blocks, and relatively low traffic volumes provide important pedestrian connections to the Downtown, parking and the Lakefront.

Veteran’s Alley
This important utility corridor will see overhead utility lines converted to underground as well as water, sewer and stormwater improvements. The alley will also be paved 100%.

*May take additional time to complete based on funding sources.
