Downtown Drinking Water Warning 4/1 - 4/4

Due to Drop in Pressure/Loss of Pressure/Line Breaks

On 4/1/19 we needed to turn the water main off along North 1st Street, from the intersection of 1st Street and Lenora Street to the intersection of 1st Street and Lake Street. This shutdown was as a result of tying in the new water system for the downtown construction and it caused the pressure in the lines to fall below 20 PSI.  Per DEQ requirements and rules that govern our system, we are issuing this boil water advisory.

ONLY properties where a boil water advisory notice have been physically posted are affected. All other City of McCall Water customers are unaffected and can continue to use water normally.

What should you do?

  • DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.  Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water.  Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, hand washing dishes, and food preparation.  Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
  • DO USE THE WATER FOR:  Activities such as showering, flushing the toilet, watering flowers, and automatic dishwashing with heat drying are all safe as long as the water is not consumed.

When can you stop the boiling?

  • Water samples will be taken after the repairs are completed to confirm drinkability.  The boil advisory is in effect from 4/1/19 at 11:00 AM and ending on 4/4/19 at 10:00 AM.  After such time you are free to drink the water without boiling unless you have received further notice from the city.
